Collection Physical Storage Locations

The changing research environment and preservation considerations serve as a basis for active library storage management, and determine decisions whether the use and condition of materials requires access in the on-site repository or in the remote storage. Larger special or language collections are preferably kept physically together.

The Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) is used as classification schema and for creating call numbers. For missing Dewey numbers and bibliographic details the Online Computer Library Center’s (OCLC) service Classify should be checked: http://classify.oclc.org/classify2/ClassifyDemo?&startRec=0
